Poor Ellie had to get her tonsils and adenoids taken out and tubes put in her ears. We found out that she failed her hearing test at school a couple of times so after a visit to the audiologist and the ENT, this seemed to be the solution. She has had chronic ear infections and enlarged tonsils and adenoids and she never complained about any of it! She had the surgery on September 23. That morning she was so excited. She was excited about the thought of having as much ice cream as she wanted. It turns out that she didn't want anything like that for days. Slurpee's and water were all she really wanted for a while. It was a really hard long recovery. It was painful for her, especially in her ears and it was smelly!! She is finally starting to get back to normal. Thankfully there were many people who came by to visit and cheer her up through the past few weeks. Visitors were definitely her best medicine. We were so proud of how tough she was to get through this. She is so used to being so active and busy so it was not only painful but it was hard for her to be so homebound for that long.
