Colorado Week 4 +

We started the week with a birthday dinner for Emilie at Kate's house. It was so nice to be able to celebrate a birthday together. We probably haven't done that since we were around 10 years old!

We had another day at the zoo with Em and Sofia. We also went to the Belleview park. It is a neat park that we try to go to every year that has a train, petting zoo and a stream of water to play in. It was so much fun doing the mom thing with Emilie. I'm so happy that Sofia and Patchy are little buddies. They are adorable together.

We went to the Butterfly Pavilion with the Sullivan Kiddos. Ellie and Charlie were on a mission to get a butterflies to land on them. I think they were pretty unsuccessful. Patchy and Stella ran around together. I caught Patch having a conversation with a butterfly as you can see in the picture below.

We went to a concert in the park with the other Sullivan Kiddos. We had a lot of fun dinners with these guys. Our kids love Olivia, Conor and Luke sooooo much. Wish we lived closer.
We spent an entire day in Golden. We walked around the town, played in the park, climbed trees and ended up at Splash water park. Patrick went down his first big water slide. He doesn't like getting his face wet but he sure loved the slide. Ellie wasn't quite ready to try the big slide yet. It kind of surprised us but we are starting to find that quiet little Patchy is really quite adventurous.
We went to the Denver Botanic Gardens with Emilie and Sofia. We were lucky enough to be there when the Chihuly exhibit was there. It was amazing. Ellie was referring to all of the glass designs as something Elsa from Frozen would have created. There was a little boy there who was dressed up as Peter Pan for this 5th birthday. Naturally, Patchy wanted a picture with Peter Pan. Ellie kept catching frogs out of the little lakes.

We had a great day downtown. The boys went to a Rockies game and the girls went shopping and out to lunch.
Our last morning we spent with Dave, Emilie and Sofia doing a hike in Highlands Ranch and visiting some Buffalo.

We are so thankful to be able to spend HOT July out of Arizona and in beautiful Colorado. We love spending time with our friends and family and watching the kids form great relationships with all of their Denver buddies. Can't wait until next year. Here are some silly videos from the car ride and hotel on the way home. Just a small glimpse of what our 12 hour car ride is like.
