10 Month Elise

Here is what Elise is up to at 10 months:

thinks every toy is a phone and puts it up to her ear and grunts
waves hello and goodbye (you just have to wait a while to see it so you might be long gone and then she waves)
starting to high five
dances
climbs
throws breakfast, lunch and dinner all over the floor
standing up without holding on
loves drinking from a straw
starting to walk...2-3 steps

Our Little Climber

These days Elise is trying to climb on anything and everything. As soon as she stands up somewhere she instantly brings her foot up to see if she can climb.  Lucky for her,  the entertainment center has a little ledge for her foot and she actually tries to climb it.
Strong little sucker!

A Weekend in Flagstaff

This past weekend we all went up to Flagstaff for the weekend.  Greg, Uncle Mike and I had a half-marathon on Saturday and it seemed like the perfect excuse to have everyone go up for a great getaway. Uncle Jerry, Cannon, Chloe, Auntie Angie, Uncle Toot, Mia, Mikey, Uncle Mike, Grandma and Grandpa all joined us up in Flagstaff.  Greg was in charge of housing and as a birthday suprise for me, got the most beautiful home in the woods.  It was perfect. It was so nice to get out of the desert heat in August and enjoy the cool mountain air.
The Carusos and Trones arrived first. It was unbelievalbe how excited both Mia and Ellie were.  They broke out thier high pitched squeals as they crawled (Ellie) and ran (Mia) around the house.  I think Mia had to sit on every piece of furniture.  It was pure excitement!

The rest of the weekend conisted of a whole lot of relaxation. One of the favorite places was the swing in the backyard.
There were horses outside. They were beautiful.  Mia and Chloe and Cannon had fun feeding the horses. It was Ellie's first time petting a horse.

The boys had plenty of basketball playing time.  I think it was the first time many of them had played in years and they were having a blast.

We also soaked up the beautiful views of the stars, sat around the fire, cooked smores, some played games, watched football, took walks and everyone just enjoyed being together.

Bedtime

Bedtime is so much fun....
The nights we do a bath we get to wrap her up in fun little towels.
Then...
It used to go like this...off to her room to dry her off, brush her bald head, put lotion diaper and pajamas on.  Read her a few bedtime stories.  Then mom feeds her and puts her in crib with bink and she is off to dreamland.

These days, it is not quite so peaceful. She is an escape artist. As soon as we lay her down she is off.  First ripping her towel off....then going to find where daddy went.  Playing peek a boo through the gate at the top of the stairs. Daddy brings her back and she does it again.  After a while, we finally get her all ready for bed. She even has some hair to brush now! It definitly takes 2 to contain the ball full of energy. She still gets a few stories and mom still feeds her. But, she doesn't just eat. Now she takes multiple breaks while eating to wave goodnight to all her animal friends up in the room.  The fun never ends.
and
We love it!

I Love Lucy

My mommy took me on a trip to San Diego to go meet my new friend Lucy.  I couldn't wait to meet her.  Her picture has been hanging on our fridge for all these months and I was always wondering when I would get to meet the real thing. When Becca called mommy and asked if we wanted to go and visit Sheila with her, I was so happy she said "YES"
It was a long car ride to Lucy's house.  It was a piece of cake though. I think I am a pro now after driving to and from Denver. It was a great time. Our friend Tyler was pretty busy with his mom doing big boy stuff like going to LegoLand, but when he was hanging with us girls he was a load of entertainment. He is so cool and made us giggle a bunch.
These are all the things I did with Lucy:
played with Tyler...stole her binky from her mouth (she stole mine too)...crawled around each other in circles grabbing for toys... went to the beach...shopping... ate lots of food together...took a bath... went into a warm jacuzzi... played in grass...kissed ourselves in the mirrors...spazzzzzed out in church...listened to all of our moms gab and gab and gab
