This past weekend we all went up to Flagstaff for the weekend. Greg, Uncle Mike and I had a half-marathon on Saturday and it seemed like the perfect excuse to have everyone go up for a great getaway. Uncle Jerry, Cannon, Chloe, Auntie Angie, Uncle Toot, Mia, Mikey, Uncle Mike, Grandma and Grandpa all joined us up in Flagstaff. Greg was in charge of housing and as a birthday suprise for me, got the most beautiful home in the woods. It was perfect. It was so nice to get out of the desert heat in August and enjoy the cool mountain air.
The Carusos and Trones arrived first. It was unbelievalbe how excited both Mia and Ellie were. They broke out thier high pitched squeals as they crawled (Ellie) and ran (Mia) around the house. I think Mia had to sit on every piece of furniture. It was pure excitement!
The rest of the weekend conisted of a whole lot of relaxation. One of the favorite places was the swing in the backyard.
There were horses outside. They were beautiful. Mia and Chloe and Cannon had fun feeding the horses. It was Ellie's first time petting a horse.
The boys had plenty of basketball playing time. I think it was the first time many of them had played in years and they were having a blast.
We also soaked up the beautiful views of the stars, sat around the fire, cooked smores, some played games, watched football, took walks and everyone just enjoyed being together.
