Halloween 2015

Halloween was really fun this year. Maybe because it was on a Saturday but there was tons to fit in that day. Ellie dressed up as Mary Lou Retton for gymnastics that morning. Patchy had a Tball game. Then we carved pumpkins. Patchy's little buddy invited us over for a pre trick or treating party. Then we went by Mommom and Poppy's block party. After that we met the Caruso's at Grandma's house and trick or treated around their neighborhood. It has been a few years since we trick or treated with the Caruso's so that was very fun. Although, after their long day...the kids didn't really even go for very long. They were pooped!!

Quinnie didn't want to wear any costumes. We tried the lego box, humpty dumpty, and some others. She was only content in a leotard so she was a gymnast. This is so crazy for us because the other two loooooove dressing up. Quinnie is our little hot head. She gets sooooooo mad if you try to put something on her she doesn't want. This includes any clothing or shoes. She has to pick them out and give the OK. I'm scared!!

Halloween Festivities

We took Mommom and Poppy to the Pumpkin Patch at the Botanical Garden. We unknowingly arrived right as they were closing for the afternoon so we didn't have much time but the kids still managed to squeeze in some fun. We went thought the maze onto a hayride, watched them pack up the petting zoo and went on little pony rides. It was a good thing we didn't have too long  because it was still very hot outside!

We love Patchy's preschool so much. They had a really fun Fall festival in front of the school. There was tons of craft activities and little games set up. I couldn't believe that Quinn sat still to get her face painted but for that minute or two she was a complete angel!

Ellie had a book parade at school. They were able to pick a favorite character from a book to dress up as for their Halloween Parade. Ellie chose Molly Lou Mellon. Ellie's gymnastics is so neat because they really do a lot to teach the girls a lot about life other than just gymnastics. So they had have this guy come and do lessons with the girls on mental toughness, character building and other things like that. One time over the summer, he talked to Ellie's little group and read the story about Molly Lou Melon and how your attitude can cause a ripple and effect others. She remembered that story and although she knew that nobody would know who Molly Lou Melon was, Ellie insisted that she dress up as her. It was actually a big hit (among the teachers). The kids just liked Ellie's buck teeth.

Music Obsessions

Patch and Ellie both have favorite tunes they want to listen to every time we get in the car. Patchy always requests Grenade by Bruno Mars. Ellie loves Michael Jackson. She thinks he is the greatest ever and can't wait to go to a concert. We haven't broken the sad news to her yet. She really believes she might be just as talented as Michael Jackson. Crazy girl with some goofy moves. We love her spirit!

Ellie's 6th Birthday Celebrations

Ellie had her 6th birthday party at her favorite place with most of her favorite people. She had an open gym style party at her gym. She invited a few old friends and her class! We were actually given a certificate for a free party by a family friend who knew they weren't going to use it. She only requested that it be Halloweeny and that she have an ice cream cake. It was very easy and very fun! She made her own video inviation to the party:

On Ellie's actual birthday she had her very first field trip with her school. They went to the Shnepfs Farm Pumpkin Patch. It was so fun because all of the parents were invited to attend. It really was just like a day off of school to spend together. We had a great time running around and playing at the farm with all of her friends.

Six

Ellie, I often wonder what you will remember about these years. Will you look back when you are older and remember what a character you were? How much people around you enjoy you. You are a riot. I love that about you.  I really hope you don't let growing up get in the way of your crazy and fun spunk. You are growing up to be such a kind, loving, beautiful and funny girl.  You are also such a sensitive and sentimental little thing. When we were getting ready for bed last night you were reading to Quinn in her room and you tried to get under her crib. You couldn't. You cried because you were too big and you said you didn't want to get any bigger. You cried because you were realizing that you were never going to be little again. You have such an old soul and you don't want to let anything go. We have talked about getting a new house, truck, even things like new sheets and you always say no because you love what we have so much. You are starting to save money like a mad woman too. Right now you are trying to save enough money to buy all 5 of us a trip to the north pole to see Santa and how things work up there. You said it is going to be really expensive and it might take a long time. You spend your days in school, at gymnastics, playing with friends, dancing your heart, playing with Patch and Quinn or doing some sort of craft. You love school and your friends there. Some kids you have known for a few years, but most are new friends. You just started a new Daisy troop with your school friends and you said it was the best day ever. You are still enjoying gymnastics. You say you are going to do it until you are a mommy. Nothing is better than then watching how proud you are when you get a new skill after you've worked so hard. You have been really into your shuffle lately and are always wanting to download the latest music. It boggles my mind how fast you memorize songs and how crazy you dance. Lately you have been trying really hard to figure out how you can be famous. I cherish our talks at night before you fall asleep. You have worries and fears and you are a horribly picky eater but we will work on all of that. You love your brother and sister and when you are in the mood for it, they would rather play with you than anybody else. You are an endless source of entertainment and we love you soooo! Watching you grow is such a gift and we are so honored to be your parents. I hope you always shine bright.
