Halloween 2014

Ellie and Patchy woke up so excited about Halloween. Greg found them whispering about it with each other. They were a little bummed to hear that Halloween was a night holiday and we wouldn't be doing much until after dinner. They did get to carve their pumpkins during the day. They all dressed up as the Smurfs and were very cute. Quinn was a little trooper in her baby smurf outfit. Patchy and Quinn just went back and forth down the block and then home to hand out candy. Ellie was on a mission and wanted to go all over the neighborhood. But, it didn't take long before she was telling me how badly her feet hurt and that she was a little homesick.

Halloween Festivities

There was a fun little pumpkin patch at the rec center where Ellie and Patchy take some classes. Mia had a sleepover and came with us. Later in the month, we went to our favorite pumpkin patch at Vertuccio farms. It is always a great time watching the kids jump on the big pillow, go down the slides, climb on the hay maze and ride the little train.

Fall Pictures of the Trone Kiddos

I had my friend Audrey take some pictures of the kids. I had pictures taken of Ellie and Patchy at 6 months and so I wanted to get some of Quinn too, and it was perfect timing with Ellie and Patchy's birthday. I told the kids that it was a surprise for Daddy for his birthday so they were very good. They felt like they were on a big secret mission. I love these pictures and I hope that these are the pics we finally get framed for the wall in our house!

Five

Elise,
You are 5. I can't believe we have a 5 year old! You are such strong little thing. Strong body and strong in spirit. You are tons of fun to be around and so full of personality. You still get upset and frustrated easily but you are doing so well at figuring it out and letting things go. You are starting to think more of others and ways to be kind. Your mind is so curious and running nonstop. You are always asking what words mean, why people do certain things and what every single song on the radio is talking about. You aren't a little girl anymore...at least, you don't want to be. You don't like toys, stickers or things like that. You have at least 10 clothing changes every day but most of them is from one leotard to the next. You are really into being fancy and you even find ways to make leotards fancy with different skirts and accessories. You constantly think about what the perfect outfit is to wear to each activity we have throughout the day. I can't believe the amount of time you already spend in the bathroom fixing your hair and getting dressed. I'm a little worried, but hoping that this will pass.
You kind of like school but would rather stay home most days. You are in your last year of preschool. I think once you get there you have fun but it is hard to get you going some mornings. I had such a fun time visiting you at school on your birthday and was glad to see you so happy there. You are looking forward to Kindergarten. Probably because preschool is so 'kidish'.
You are still loving gymnastics. You always ask if you have gymnastics each day. We got you a bar for the playroom and so far you have been nonstop swinging in there. You are also starting to love tennis. We signed you up for some tennis lessons and you loved it! I love how enthusiastic you get when you are really into something. You really do go all in. You have so much energy and you certainly are a busy little gal.
You also love doing Daisy's. I love Daisy's too because it is teaching you wonderful things. You told me that Daisy's make the world a better place. You like to tell me about each character trait (being kind, considerate, helpful etc) you learn about after each meeting and we talk about so many examples. I love that you are so interested in that!
You are a great big sister to Patchy and Quinn. They look up to you and love watching you go all around the house. You have a great imagination and will get them into your different schemes. You encourage them, laugh at them, help them and sometimes torment them. I think you all have a good relationship and hearing you laugh together is one of the best parts of life.
You love YouTube videos. You mostly watch music videos or kids cooking, testing out toys, or play dough. You also love to make your own videos and tell me to put them on YouTube. You tell me to send it to New York.
You really do find a way to make everything so much fun. We are proud of you in every way. We love you so much, our sweet, whimsical, brave, charming, tenacious, and silly girl.
