The Trone Family: Three

You are a big 3 year old! You are just so adorably sweet and cool. You are funny and cuddly. You are so good and happy. It is easy to get you excited about things.

You are very into Batman, hard work, and balls. You started a new rec class called amazing athletes and you were so pumped up about it. You have this voice you get when you are all excited and feeling cool and it makes us smile. We are so proud of how kind you are to others. I ask you who your best buddy is and you say... all of them. You randomly say things like, "thanks for making dinner, mommy", "you're my girl" or "I love you" that can melt my heart. You have been a very affectionate boy since you were a baby and to our delight, you continue to be this way. You love your family, you love to snuggle, and you love to express your love for all of us in so many ways.

You spend days playing outside, playing with your tools or balls in they playroom, asking to watch batman videos on the IPad, playing with Ellie or Quinn, running laps around the house, jumping on the couch, or pretending to be some sort of action hero or animal. JoJo and Mikey are your closest buddies. You aren't really very into learning right now so we don't push it. I think you could care less about what color an orange is at this point. You are talking a bunch and it is so neat to watch your thought process as you are trying to recall a new word. I can see your frustration turn to pure joy when we get it. You do like going to your little rec class and making crafts with your teacher and friends. I think it makes you feel cool to have a backpack and go to school just like Ellie.
You have been very attached to your pillow lately. You carry it all around the house with you when you are tired. You have also brought it to gymnastics on a few occasions and all the mommies think it is so cute how you just plop you pillow down on the floor and lay there. You are also still using your mimi a lot but the mimi fairy is going to come soon.
Potty training is slowly getting there. When you do go you face backwards on the pot. It makes me laugh. You absolutely hate brushing your teeth at night, it is probably your biggest battle.
You like going to the movies and going to see ball games with daddy. You get very excited and you always love eating a hot dog when you are out with daddy. It is fun to watch you two together.

You are such a good brother to both Ellie and Quinn. Ellie doesn't realize how lucky she is to have such a laid back little brother. You almost always let her have her way. If I ask which movie you guys want to watch or what park you want to go to etc..you go along with whatever she wants. You are pretty much always happy to go along with whatever. Quinn loves you so much. Her face lights up when she sees you. You are constantly entertaining her throughout the day and taking care of her. You do get in trouble a lot for getting to aggressive with her. For some reason, you like to put your foot in her face and lay on her. You aren't trying to hurt her but you need to learn how to give her some space.

You wake up most nights and come into our room and get me to come back in your room with you. Sometimes you want to stay in our room and sometimes you sleep all the way through the night on your own, but most of the time I have to come and lay with you in your bed. I don't mind it though. I know you won't always do that.
We still call you Patchy most of the time. You say your name is Patrick. You also would love it if everybody called you Super Pat. I look at you and I really do wish that time would stay still. Really, you are every mommy's dream. It is pure joy to watch you grow and evolve every single day, and I am so, so proud of the person that you are. Thank you for being such a kind and loving person. I always want to remember you at this age. We love you so much, little buddy.
