Mikey's Birthday

We had a very fun birthday party for Mikey at Encanto Park. There are lots of rides, a train, and a splash pad for the kids to play and have fun. Elise wasn't tall enough for some of the rides but they were letting them all on because for a while we were the only ones there. So, this was one of Elise's first experience with carnival rides. Happy Birthday Mikey Mike. It was such a fun day!

7 months

Patrick, 

You are seven months old and on the move. You have the army crawl down to a tee. You can get going pretty fast. You often stop and put your butt in the air and stretch your legs out straight. It looks like you are going to stand right up. You are able to go from belly to sitting so that is how we usually find you when we come to get you out of your crib. You are like a little carpet sweeper. You take your fingers and rake the carpet to find any goodies in there. You have entered the phase of putting everything in your mouth.

With your new mobility you are getting much cooler in Elise's eyes. The other day you were playing with the tunnel together.  It was very loud with all of your laughing and squealing. She always wants to do crawling races and she encourages you to try to chase her. She calls you "buddy" when she is talking to you. She will often tell you a story and try to get a reaction out of you and when you just stare back at her she looks at me and says, "Packwick doesn't understand."
You are starting to eat finger foods such as cheerios, and chopped up fruits like watermelon, mango, banana and avocado. I think your favorite thing in the world is cold water. I don't blame you. It's getting hot. You love to clap and wave your arms around when you are excited. Which is all of the time.

You are sitting up in the tub like a big boy now although we certainly have to stay close because you are always wanting to grab at toys which makes you fall over. Thankfully, you are still a big cuddle buddy. We love you soooo!

Go Devils!

Ellie,
You went on a Daddy Date to the SunDevils baseball game. You guys met Papa and Uncle Mike Freeman there. I heard you were a very good girl and sat on your daddy's lap and ate your snacks and cheered for the Devils. You got to visit with your 'ol pal Sparky. The coolest part of the night was that you got to meet Bobby Bonilla and sit on his lap. Look at his gigantic hands! He was very nice to you and Daddy which was very cool. I think Daddy was a little more excited than you were for that!

Prunes

Patrick,
I was feeding you some prunes the other day. I had to walk away and must have left the container too close to you because this is what I came back too...

One big gooey yucky sticky mess. But you sure were happy!

Fooka

Ellie,

We went to the pet store this weekend and you picked out your very first fish. You named her Fooka. I kept asking you what her name was all the way home to see if it changed but you insisted that it was Fooka. You are one proud fish mommy. We do have to remind you throughout the day of a few things.  You can't scoot Fooka off of the counter and carry her around the house. You can't take Fooka in your bed to sleep. You can't stick things in the water. You can't feed her cheerios.
Fooka is very lucky to have you for a mommy!

On the move

Patrick,
You are on the move! Your primary mode of transportation was rolling around on the floor. You were pretty fast and could get where you wanted to go. Last week, you started this frog type of hop. You would hop both feet under at the same time and then you would sort of fall on your face moving forward and then your feet would hop again. It was pretty funny. I think you were doing this hopping maneuver in your crib one night and you somehow woke up with your very first shiner. You might have bumped your face on the mobile attachment. You had a nice black eye for your baptism. You looked like a tough little guy!
Now you have moved on to the army crawl. If you have the right motivation you can get going pretty fast. Go buddy go!
