My First Christmas!

My 1st Christmas was full of fun and being with my big family. Mommom and Poppy were here, that was so special!  On Christmas eve we went over to Uncle Jerry's house.  I may have slept the whole time, but I know it was a great party.  On Christmas day we opened presents and then Mommom cooked a yummy ham dinner and everyone came over.

This is me in front of my very first Christmas tree!

I had so many outfits I had to try them all out

My Auntie Karen and cousin Chloe made me this outfit, the pink girlie ruffles kind of scared me at first, but I got used to it....

My cousin Chloe is so cool!

I love my

Mommom and Poppy

Greg's Mom and Dad came in for the holidays and met Elise for the first time. They were here for a little over a week. It was so nice to have them here!  We did lots of shopping for Christmas, watching movies and eating all the delicioius meals mommom made for us throughout the week.  Poppy was so happy to be able to wake up and see Elise everyday.   Mommom enjoyed going on walks with Elise and they both enjoyed watching bathtime.

We will miss them tons.... Elise is still looking around for them!  Can't wait to visit in the summer!
We love you Mommom and Poppy!

Smiling

Elise "drunk" on milk after being stripped down from spitting up allllllll over herself

Auntie Em

I had my first out of town visitor this weekend. Auntie Em (mommy's best friend since they were little) came from Denver. It was so fun having someone other than mommy and daddy around the house to play with. I love her sooooo!

This is how I feel about her leaving

After mommy and I dropped her off at the airport, I layed around staring out the window (my FIRST rainy day ever) and thought about Auntie Em and all the fun we had.

We went for lots of runs and walks together, watched some movies and played. I even smiled a few times for her. She also took me to see Santa Claus! I might have slept through the whole thing, but I will remember my first Santa visit forever.

Thank you for visiting Auntie Em. I can't wait to see you again!

6 Weeks

Time sure is flying by....Elise is 6 weeks today. She celebrated by having her first major blow out. Man, I never knew poop could spread/spray out of the diaper so much. Now I know to always be prepared with an extra outfit when out and about! She also celebrated with grandpa this morning while he watched her and he played her all sorts of tunes. She loves watching her grandpa being silly!
Only two more weeks until she gets to meet Mommom and Poppy Trone!

Here is what we have been up to the past few weeks:

Sleeping, lots of sleeping. She is a very noisy sleeper!

We went and cheered on daddy at his race, look at that enthusiasm!

Cheering on our favorite team..... not very happy because they lost.

Chilling out in her new favorite chair that daddy's friend sent.
Of course she is sleeping!

Tummy time looking at the lights on the tree. Suprisingly, she loves her tummy time.

She has started smiling a little so hopefully next post we will share some smiles instead of so many zzzz's!

Playing Around

Here is a quick video of Elise playing and exercising under her play gym. She is pretty noisy!

One Month!

We had Elise's one month check-up today. It turns out our baby girl is a champ at putting on weight. She is already 10 pounds.... 75th percentile in weight, 50th in length and her little tiny head is only around the 5th percentile. Here she is tuckered out after her Dr. appointment and a visit to see grandpa.

She still loves chillin in her boppy. She loves taking baths. She loves going for walks everyday with mommy. She loves it when her daddy comes home and feeds her. She loves playing with her toys that her cousin Maria gave to her. She loves her binkie. She loves loves loves blowing farts, just like her daddy!
We love that she has slept 6 hours straight through the night two times this week.

Here are some pictures of the past few weeks

Our friend Bethany took some pictures of Elise and Maria. Here are a few......

Here is her blog link again if you want to see the rest of Elise's pictures and Maria's too!
Thanks again Bethany!

Elise just hanging out on the couch

Elise is a very relaxed baby. She will just hang out like this alot.
She is not very hard to soothe and we are looking forward to her becoming more & more aware.
Each day she is looking around more and more all the time.
She is looking forward to meeting her family and friends from Maryland, Denver, Chicago, Indiana, California, and Oklahoma. Aunt Emilie is coming to see her soon & Mommom and Poppy are coming to spend her 1st Christmas with her. We have gotten her very excited about a super eventful summer and she cant wait to go to Denver for the 4th of July.

A Day of Adventure

Today I went to a group with Mommy at the hospital to learn how to eat better. Turns out we are doing really good. After, Daddy took us to Target for the 1st time. He bought me a new hat & Mommy a new clock. It was fun riding in the truck. Mommy and I have plenty of room in the back seat. I am glad Daddy bought it, even though Mommy was against it at first. When we got home Daddy took me for my 1st ride in the Moby. We went to the mailbox and then all the way around the neighborhood. When we got home I had to take a nap and Mommy carved me a Jackolantern. Halloween is my favorite holiday yet!

1 Week Old Today

Well we have made it through week one of being 1st time parents and are so happy. Elise is eating well and Karen is feeling better every day. I can't remember what really mattered to me before she was born & I cant imagine loving & admiring Karen more for what she has done in just 9 short months. We truly are leading a charmed life. Karen's pregnancy went so well, no complications during delivery, & now Elise is so special and seems easy to care for. She is very happy to breastfeed, take pumped breast milk from a bottle, or to relax with her pacifier. Our new hobby is to listen to her grunt and see if we can catch a little smile, which is most likely a reaction to gas. Speaking of gas she seems to be just like her dad. Elise is not much for swaddling and likes to stretch out when she sleeps. She is very good at "tummy time" already and I am predicting she rolls over early, but I may be biased. We can't wait to see what she does next.

Thank You very much to everyone who has called, sent emails, cards, gifts, or given us dinner.

Ha Ha Monkey! You so funny!

No need to swaddle her

She's Here!

Elise Anne Trone was born on Thursday, October 22nd at 8:45. We all spent 2 days in the hospital and came home today just in time to take a nap before the ASU vs Stanford game.
She weighed in at 7lbs 15oz and is 21inches long. Her APGAR score was 9.9, & yes her daddy is VERY PROUD! She also has some very long eyelashes.

We arrived at the hospital a little after 7am thursday morning, got checked in, and Karen's IV with the Pitocin started about 8:30am or so. Contractions started getting really intense around 1pm so she decided it was time for the epidural. Karen's labor progressed nicely and she was fully dilated at about 7pm. Karen was nothing short of AMAZING! She really pushed for a total of about 23 minutes. I almost had to catch the baby because the Dr was still putting on his gloves when her head came out.

I got to tell Karen that we had a little girl, which was the best part of all for me given how little control I had and how helpless I felt watching her in so much pain. Oh yeah, the epidural did not live up to the hype for Karen to say the least. Overall things could not have gone much better since day 1. Karen is feeling good and given how tired I am, it hurts just to think about how tired she must be. Baby Elise is latching on well and feeding good which is helping her sleep good too. Wish us luck on our 1st night at home. Here are some pictures from the big day and her 1st nap at home!
