Thanks Poppy and MomMom

Elise and Patrick,
You guys love going to the mailbox because sometimes we get packages from Mommom and Poppy. Lately you guys have been getting quite a few packages since your birthday is coming up. It makes you so excited! They sent you the best early birthday present ever a few weeks ago. It was a big sand/water table. Patrick, your favorite part of that was the box...for now. You played around with that box for days. You would get upset if I set it up when I was cleaning up and you were full of energy and enthusiasm when I set it back down. Thanks again Mommom and Poppy, that was a great gift and it is sure to get a lot of use. We love you!

 

 

Fun with Grandma

Grandma met us at Tempe Marketplace after work one day and we had so much fun with her! It had been raining all morning so we were enjoying the cooler weather. We ate dinner outside while the kids put on a dance show for us. Then we went to the splash pad and everyone had fun running around in the water getting drenched. Grandma bought some hot chocolate to warm everybody up after and we sat by the fire. It was certainly a special treat to spend that time with Grandma.

11 Months

Patrick,
You are 11 months old now and your personality is really starting to shine through. There is so much to remember about you at this age. You are a funny little guy. You love to wrestle around on the floor or the couch all by yourself. You will roll around and growl and dive down. It is just like a cute little puppy dog that rolls all around. You also love playing the "I'm gonna get you" game. You take off so fast and then stop and look around to see if we are coming and scream and take off again. Every toy is a car and you push them all around crawling all over the room. You walk all around if you are holding something. You aren't showing too much interest in trying it on your own.
You are a toilet magnet. You love the toilet, which is very scary. It is like you can sense when the bathroom door is open and you take off. We think you are saying a few words such as; ball, hi, book, ey-ye (Ellie), mama, more. You like to dance and bounce around when Elise is dancing or there is music playing. It makes you very excited and you spaz out and clap.
One day you were playing at the refrigerator with magnets and you slipped and fell and hit your mouth. There was soo much blood coming out of your mouth that I panicked and called daddy to come home from work. You were already smiling and happy by the time he got there. You tore your frenulum. We called the pediatrician who told us to call the dentist who told us to call the oral surgeon who told us to call the pediatrician. Turns out you were just fine. 
You are still a stinker at night. You do not sleep through the night and we go back and forth on if we should just let you cry yourself back to sleep. You have a little temper in you and will stop and scream and dive into the ground if someone takes something away from you. If you are sitting up and you get mad you will just fall flat backwards and sometimes you hit your head and that makes you even more angry. It is pretty funny.
You love your Grandpa. He watches you when Little Explorers is at our house. I think you two have a special connection. There are times when we are over there and you won't let anybody else hold you but Grandpa. Of course, you love your sis too. You just lighten up when she comes into the room. Unfortunately for you, sometimes she is very into you, and sometimes she isn't. When she gives you kisses you crack up with the biggest smile every time. You like hanging out with the big kids. You will follow them around and you like to be part of the action.
I think your most favorite thing in the world is food. There is pretty much nothing that you won't eat. The only foods I have seen you try to spit out were hummus and mashed potatoes. You start to yell at me when I sit you in your chair if I don't have food ready to plop down in front of you that instant. Your little tongue has a mind of its own when you are eating. When you are finished with all of your food you shout "MO, MO".
I asked Elise to tell me something about you right now and she said that you like to bite toes. That is very true. Sometimes you sneak up on us and just bite our toes. You goofy little thing. My favorite thing about you is still how you snuggle and hold on tight when I get you out of the crib after your nap or in the morning. Feeling your little arms squeeze around my neck or shoulder is one of the best feelings in the world. We love you!
