Breckenridge

We had so much fun in Breckenridge with our friends, the Richards. Tim and Holly have 2 little boys, Owen and Tucker who are around the ages of Ellie and Patch. They all had a great time together. We went down on the second day of daddy's big race and ventured around town while we waited for the race to finish.

 

Patchy was brave enough to float on the water in a big bubble. They said he was the littlest boy they had ever seen do that without getting scared. He loved it.  

We went to a fun park in the middle of the town, and a few shops. 

When daddy came down we went to the bike pump track. Daddy still had some energy after his race and he rode around the pump track a few times while Ellie rode behind him and Patchy was racing them on foot. They went for a little hike before we got in the car and drove out to a fishing pond.

 

Ellie and Patchy had been wanting to go fishing for a while so they were so excited. They waited patiently and finally each caught a fish. We couldn't believe how Ellie grabbed the fish with her hands and stuck her finger in its mouth. She named her fish Sally and was convinced she was going to put it in fish tank when we got home. Poor, Sally. They were so proud. I'm hoping that they got fishing out of their system.

 

   

 

The next day we did some more walking around town including lunch with a beautiful view, playing at the train park and splashing around in the little stream.

Keystone

Daddy signed up for a Big Mountain Enduro bike race in Keystone so it was a wonderful excuse to spend a few days up in the mountains. We were in Keystone for the first 2 nights and Breckenridge for the 3rd night with our friends. It was so nice up there, we all had a great time and Daddy did a good job in his race. The condo we stayed at in Keystone had an amazing view but it wasn't too kid friendly. It was on the 3rd floor and had 2 balconies and a loft with a ladder. Fun for our climber kids but scary for us. Thankfully, nobody got hurt. We had a great time down in the village and spending time with friends who came up to cheer on daddy. They took Patch up on the gondola to find daddy on one of the trails. I stayed back with Quinn and Ellie, who was too scared for the gondola. It was so beautiful there. We were very proud of daddy for finishing all 6 stages and not crashing and having fun!

 

 

Colorado Week 2

Our second week in Colorado started with the arrival of the Caruso family, Grandma and Papa. It was so fun to get together with all of the cousins and the kids. There were 14 kids between our four families and it was so much fun watching them all together at the park and on the 4th of July.

All of the Caruso's left the day after the 4th except for Mia. She stayed with us for a few days and flew home with Grandma and Grandpa. Emilie and her family came home from Iceland so we moved into our rental home and spent some good quality time with Emilie and Sofia. Daddy's friend, Ryan was in town so he was off mountain biking while the rest of us stayed busy. We went to a couple fun parks in Highlands Ranch, the Denver Children's Museum, had delicious burgers and swimming in Kelley's neighborhood pool, and another fun evening at Aunt Kelley's house. The kids were certainly tuckered out by the time Mia flew home.

Colorado Week 1

We survived the car trip up for our month in Colorado. The kids did awesome in the car thanks to naps, special treats, and their own DVD players. The first day they were in the car for over 11 hours! The first week we stayed in Denver, we lived at Emilie and Dave's house. This was perfect because of the crib, books, toys and nice homey feel. The kids loved exploring in their backyard. Thank you Emilie! One of the first things we did in Denver was go to the zoo. Ellie had been talking about wanting to see the polar bear in Denver for a while. We also met Kelley and the kids at a fun park and had a nice dinner outside at Pat and Kesa's house as well as a fabulous welcome dinner from Aunt Kelley. Our first week we had such beautiful weather and such fun company. A good reminder of why we come up ever year!
