Baby Boy Trone

We are thrilled that we are going to have a little boy!  Today Grandma asked her what the baby's name was and she said "brother." She seems pretty happy about the baby growing in my belly. We will see how she feels about it when he arrives!

California Adventure

We had a fun California adventure last weekend.  We were there for the Big Sur Marathon and to celebrate Grandpa's 60th birthday. We were very lucky to be able to stay with friends in Pebble Beach. Thank you Mike and Paola! We ventured around Monterey, Carmel, and Pacific Grove as well.  We had never been that far north in California and it was absolutely beautiful.  Elise loved the beach. It wasn't quite warm enough to get in the water but she still had fun getting her toes wet.

 Greg was able to catch up with an old friend in Santa Cruz and go for a beautiful mountain bike ride.

The day before the race we met up with Grandma and Grandpa and the Carusos to get race packets and walk around Monterey. The girls were able to get all their energy out at Dennis the Menace Park. It could possibly be the coolest public park ever. There were fun slides, tunnels, swings and even a maze garden.  

We made one more stop at the beach before we called it a day.

On race day Grandma and I brought the kids out to meet up with Angie who did the 9 miler, and cheer on all the guys.  Greg, Mike and Grandpa all did a great job completing the marathon. A very cool accomplishment for Grandpa on his 60th. 

We had a nice dinner out to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. There was some pretty fun couches out on the patio that entertained us for a while. 

It was such a fun family vacation!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday this year.  The weather was beautiful so after church we pretty much relaxed in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard all day. Grandma cooked a yummy ham, baked beans, and potato salad for lunch.  It was a great day.  The Easter Bunny left Elise a basket of goodies at home.

The Easter Bunny also left treats for everybody at Grandma's house. Elise found those pretty quickly. 

 The kiddos had fun splashing around in the pool. Elise did have a swim diaper on for a long time but it was on her for so long we decided to let her be free for a while. The girls were splashing poor Mikey and he was getting upset.  Here is a video of Ellie making it up to Mikey. She gave him a big fat lick on his cheek.

Eighteen Months

Elise is 18 months old.  Here is what she is up to these days:

*When she is caught doing something naughty....like taking all the wipes out of the package....she looks up with her big eyes in shock... drops what she is doing and runs the other way.  It is hilarious. 
*Elise has a happy dance. She gallups in place while turning in circles.

*When she sees something she wants, or wants to do, she just points at it and says "yea yea yea yea yea" until she gets it. 

*She is such a sugar.  We were feeding the baby ducks in the canal the other day and she kept trying to share her binky with them. At one point she actually threw it but thankfully it didn't make it.  She also gets upset if we are reading a book and there is a sad baby. She will kiss it to make it all better.

*She will take her shoes off and sniff her feet and say "eeeeww."  Her Daddy used to tease her about her "stinky" feet but now it has created a goofy habit.

*She loves to do somersaults.  If you ask her to do a somersault she will put her head down between her feet and stick her butt in the air and wait for you to push her over. 

*Starting to give hugs....sweetest thing ever.  If we are reading a book and a character gives a hug she turns around and grabs you for a hug.  We love the random hugs we get throughout the day. Sometimes she squeezes tight for quite a long time.

*She also recently started licking instead of giving a kiss. You never know which you are going to get.  You can be snuggling on the couch and suddenly she will turn to you and either give you a kiss or a big ole lick right across your cheek.

*She is starting to accessorize. She will rarely leave the house without some sort of hat, medal or beads.
*Elise loves to smell beautiful flowers outside. She will also bend down and smell all types of things like pieces of trash, or bird poop.
*Her favorite food is definitely pizza. Every time the oven timer goes off she yells "PIZZZZAAAA" no matter what is cooking in there.
*When we are trying to take pictures of her she often says "cheeeese" and puts her hands up in the air.

Here are a few things things we would like her to stop doing:

*She has a temper. If she gets really mad because she can't do something, or we take something away from her, she growls and bites her fingers. 
*She is also very into blowing her nose on anything. Her recent faves are blowing it on your leg or the couch. 
*When we are out and about at the zoo or park she likes to go up to people she doesn't know, eat their food and drink their drinks.
* She STILL eats sand and dirt.  It isn't like she eats it one time and then spits it out. She eats a second helping.  I can't wait until this stops!

18 months Stats:
20.6 pounds  5th percentile
31.5 inches   50th percentile

Baby Trone is doing well too!  I am 16 weeks today and starting to feel a little fluttering.  We will find out real soon if we are having a little boy or little girl. 
No suprises this time.

 

 

Mommom and Poppy's Visit

Mommom and Poppy came to visit us this past weekend. Unfortunately, Mommom was pretty sick the whole weekend but I think she still managed to have a great time. Elise was in prime entertainment mode when we were hanging out at the house so all Mommom had to do was hang out on the couch and watch the 20 pound ball of medicine.

the entire time they were here.  She was so happy to have all the attention.

We took Poppy to the zoo one morning. We got there very early to try to beat the heat. It ended up being a great day at the zoo, although some animals weren't out yet. We even managed a little pit stop at the splash pad. We sure tuckered Poppy out. Both he and Elise took a long nap to recover. 

The only other time I managed to take out the camera was the last night they were here.  Poppy and Elise were having a dress up party with some hats.  Mommom snuggled Elise and gave her some good bye loves. I know that we can't wait until we can see them again. We hope you feel better soon Mommom.
